Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. Under increased atmospheric pressure, your lungs can absorb significantly more oxygen than at normal pressure—up to 10-15 times more. This oxygen-rich blood then circulates throughout your body, reaching tissues that may be oxygen-deprived due to injury, inflammation, or poor circulation.
Originally developed for treating decompression sickness in divers, HBOT is now used for a wide range of conditions where enhanced oxygen delivery supports healing.
The Science of HBOT
Under pressure, oxygen dissolves directly into your blood plasma (not just red blood cells), allowing it to reach areas with compromised blood flow. This triggers a cascade of healing responses: new blood vessel formation, stem cell mobilization, reduced inflammation, and enhanced immune function. It’s like giving your body’s repair mechanisms a turbo boost.
Benefits
How HBOT Supports Healing
🩹 Accelerates Tissue Repair
Increased oxygen availability helps cells produce more energy (ATP) for repair and regeneration.
🔥 Reduces Inflammation
HBOT has been shown to decrease inflammatory markers and swelling in damaged tissues. .
🩸 Improves Circulation
Stimulates formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) in areas with poor blood supply.
🦠 Fights Infection
High oxygen levels enhance white blood cell function and inhibit certain bacteria.
🧠 Supports Brain Health
Research shows benefits for concussion recovery and neurological conditions.
⚡ Enhances Recovery
Athletes use HBOT to speed recovery from training and competition.

What to Expect
Session Length
60 min
Typical Protocol
10-40
Frequency
3-5x
Downtime
None
During your session: You’ll relax inside a comfortable hyperbaric chamber while breathing normally. Many patients read, listen to music, or simply rest. You may feel pressure in your ears (like during airplane takeoff) as the chamber pressurizes—this is normal and easily managed.
After your session: Most people feel energized and relaxed. There’s no recovery time needed—you can drive yourself home and continue your normal day. Some patients report improved sleep and energy levels even after their first few sessions.
